Huseyin Ozcan

Hello there!

First of all, it is a honour for me to be one of the few people who will write this profile twice in EESTEC History! On the other hand, it is also little bit boring :-)

I am officially Huseyin Ozcan, or Husam, as most of the EESTECers know me. I was born in Bursa/Turkey in 1987 and lived in that “green” city for 17 years, then time for college knocked on the door and I found myself in the "grey" capital of Turkey, Ankara. I finished Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in June/2009 and now, I am pursuing a master degree in Communications Engineering in RWTH Aachen, still striving to learn German and get used to German traditions...

I got to know EESTEC in 2006, and once I got involved in the activities, I felt sure that this will become a virus, but with a good manner. Climbing the steps one by one,  after being vice chairman in my first year, I became the chairman of Local Committee in Ankara in June/2007 and Vice Chairman for External Affairs of EESTEC International in April/2008. Although I made my exact decision to go into a more passive mode as an EESTECer and just “helping” the future board, the virus stroke back in my veins thanks to the motivation and support of my old boardies, I candidated and was elected as the Chairman of EESTEC International for 2009/2010 in Belgrade/Sarajevo, two beautiful cities which mean a lot to me in my EESTEC life.

Being in the international board is not an easy thing, and being there twice in a row is something that a normal human being should not do :-) Nevertheless, with the help of EESTECers from Helsinki to Lisbon, as the new international board, we have no doubt that we will raise higher the EESTEC flag that we took from the last international board and make EESTEC proud. I feel myself really lucky to have worked with such a great team last year and luckier for working even a greater team for this year, but never forget, everything in EESTEC cannot be carried on the shoulder of 5 people, therefore, we really need your valuable help, and if you love this association like we do, please do your best to improve it, too... Every little help from you will be respected highly and will shine in eternity, even a cold beer during a board meeting!

I wish all of you more than the best in your life, in your EESTEC life and in your school life, and yes, after these two, not so many parts of our life remains, so keep them at the best level ;-)
