Local Committees

Local Committee Aachen
LC Aachen is one of the oldest members of EESTEC, founded in 1986 and active ever since. Our members are students of EE and IT at the RWTH Aachen University or the University of Applied Sciences Aachen. EESTEC is a working group of the local EE Student union ("Fachschaft" in German) of the RWTH Aachen University.
Local Committee Ankara
LC Ankara, which is located in the beautiful capitol of modern Turkish republic, became an observer of EESTEC family in 2006 and promoted to full LC position in the Sofia Congress in 2006. Our Local committee is a part of the IEEE METU Student Branch in Ankara and we work cooperatively for all our activities. Moreover, we have members from 5 different universities in Ankara. So far, we organised 2 events and also we are helping for the improvement of EESTEC International as much as we can with all of our members.
Local Committee Athens
EESTEC LC Athens was born in October 2004 at the National Technical University of Athens. Formed by a small group of students who had tested the EESTEC SPIRIT, LC Athens now counts up to 50 members. We have visited almost every LC and we have organized 4 workshops, which we are proud of. Our aim and vision is to make Europe flat, a place where all EECS students can collaborate, participate and communicate.

Local Committee Belgrade
Local committee Belgrade was founded in 2000. and has become one of the best organized committees with a lot of active members. Since the foundation, we were hosts of numerous exchanges and workshops. Last year, we organized exchange during Elektrijada, annual gathering of more than a thousand of EECS students, workshop GoFarming! and EESTEC Chairpersons' Meeting – ECM which is the second most important event in EESTEC. EESTEC LC Belgrade impact the life of local students of EECS (Electrical Engineering and Computer Science) a lot; only in 2007 we organized two programming contests in cooperation with the company Top Coder where winners got a practical experience as well as valuable awards, then motivational weekend for members in Bajina Basta, several sports and bbq gatherings and dancing school in due to form better relations among members. One of the most important events for students of technology in Serbia, "JobFair", has been organized every year in cooperation with BEST. Our members have chance to cooperate with companies by giving them technical support. By EESTEC being a link between students and industry, promoting companies gives students a possibility of finding a job and getting in the direct contact with the best companies in Serbia.
Local Committee Bucharest
EESTEC LC Bucharest was founded because we have understood that we need EESTEC as young people, as students and as future specialists. The first legal document of EESTEC LC Bucharest started, association founded in December 2002. In April 2003 EESTEC LC Bucharest is granted full membership to the International Association through the decision of the General Assembly reunited at the EESTEC Congress within Cubes, Cosenza, obtaining legal status locally in May 2004. Internationally, EESTEC LC Bucharest promoted and finally created new traditions such as ICE (Inner Circle of EESTEC) and EESTEC Hour, events dedicated to members all across Europe.
Local Committee Budapest
LC Budapest was established in 1986. The aim of its foundation was to expand the knowledge and broaden the view of the students of engineering. Since the beginning, it has been a member of the Electrical Engineering STudents' European assoCiation, EESTEC. As a non-profit student organization, initially it arranged mainly short-term exchange programs. The foreign colleagues taking part in those programs were guided around Hungary.
Local Committee Cosenza
LC Cosenza was born in October 1998, after some students of the University of Calabria (Cosenza) have taken part in the EESTEC Congress in Reggio Emilia, in April of the same year. LC Cosenza has been always very active at international level participating to 31 and organizing 6 EESTEC events: two Exchanges, three Workshops (among them are the first EESTEC Workshop in Italy and the first IEEE-EESTEC Technical Conference) and the EESTEC Congress 2003.
Local Committee Craiova
LC Craiova is member of big EESTEC family since the Congress in Belgrade 2004. The 35 members, from wich 20 are very active, succedeed to organize 2 events until now: an exchange in 2005 & a workshop in 2006, and have big plans for the future. LC Craiova participated in several events and 3 Congresses.
Local Committee Delft
Delft was present at the start-up meeting of Eurielec in 1963, the predecessor of EESTEC. The first congress, in 1966, was of course held in Delft. The ideas were great, but Eurielec didn't last. Contacts faded during the 70's. But in the 80's, the association got a new life, and a new name. In 1986 the old Eurielec changed its name to EESTEC. The first EESTEC congress was held in Eindhoven. And of course, Delft was again there. Since then, LC Delft has known periods of high and low activity. But because the committee organizing the exchanges is linked to the electrical engineering guild, ETV, the EESTEC spirit never died. In 2000, the time came again for LC Delft to step to the foreground. We organized a congress that still has its echo's in this time. Now, in 2004, our colleagues of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics have joined the experience and after the official foundation of EESTEC LC Delft, we have more members then ever before. The primary aim of EESTEC LC Delft is to promote and develop international contacts of the students of the Faculty Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics of The Technical University Delft by organizing Exchanges and Workshops.
Local Committee East Sarajevo
Idea of EESTEC in Srpsko Sarajevo was born in 2004 when group of students went to Annual Congress in Belgrade. The idea seemed good so we sent some of our students to EESTEC events and finally we made our first, but unofficially exchange in January 2005. We were still observers in that time. After that we went to Congress in Madrid and became Local Committee. In meantime our city changed its name form Srpsko Sarajevo (Serbian Sarajevo) to Istocno Sarajevo (East Sarajevo), so we became LC East Sarajevo.
Local Committee Eskisehir
Our first workshop PLC'07 has performed between 22-28 April 2007. We spent really fascinating time with our 13 participants from different LC's and Observer LC's. Our activity included picnic, Turkish night, factory tour, Turkish bath,city tour and night parties beside PLC workshop which is powered by Siemens and Mitsubishi. By the motivation of this activity we have started to plan our new workshop.
Local Committee Famagusta
EESTEC Jr. LC Famagusta has been in the family since first ECM held in Istanbul in November 2005. The local group is a sub-committee of IEEE Eastern Mediterranean University Student Branch. First event named Sunnydays was organised in June 2007 and Famagusta will apply for being a LC in Annual Congress 2008.
Local Committee Hamburg
Hamburg was getting LC in April 2005 on congress. Our first activity was going on an Exchange in Sweden as Observer in february05 and participating on Modern Space Science Workshop in Aachen in October04. Our Exchange in Hamburg has been a nice experience for hosts and guests.
Local Committee Helsinki
LC Helsinki is working under the Guild of Electrical Engineering (SIK) in the Helsinki University of Technology. The yearly schedule mostly consists of participating in exchanges and naturally organizing them, participating in EESTEC's congress and keeping in contact with other LC's. Besides of these, there are occasionally some recreational activities for members.
Local Committee Istanbul
On March 2005, 16 students from Electrical and Electronics Faculty of Istanbul Technical University started to work for establishing a Local Committee of EESTEC in Istanbul. During spring we formed our first board. We tried to get official recognition from our faculty. We tried to inform other students in our faculty and work on to organize a workshop. With the beginning of new semester in September 2005, we formed a new board and also we decided to co-operate with IEEE ITU (Istanbul Technical University) Student Branch. We got official recognition, made presentations about EESTEC in our faculty and also in IEEE Istanbul Association. And our committee became an official LC in the AC organized in Sofia, in 2006. Till now, EESTEC LC Istanbul organized one workshop in February 2006, then the first EESTEC Chairpersons' Meeting in November 2006 and ELVER 2007.
Local Committee Krakow
LC Kraków was the first LC in Poland. Nowadays we cooperate with LC Wroclaw – our younger brother and have a strong will to make contribution in both EESTEC projects and developing international cooperation.LC Kraków is a polish EESTEC committee. It works as an integral part of Circle of Sience of Electronics by The Department of Electronics in EAIiE faculty in University of Mining and Metalurgy in Krakow. Our activity icludes membership in exchanges, workshops, congresses.
Local Committee Linkoping
EESTEC LC Linkoping was founded in the winter 2004, and was voted in as an EESTEC member at the 2004 congress in Belgrade. Until now, we have only participated in two other events, and are now planning our own first event, an exchange in February 2005.
Local Committee Ljubljana
We are a fine, energetic, hard working (when necessary) group of people, who like to hang out, party, and do some serious stuff as well. We organize two workshops a year, as well as try to visit as many workshops and exchanges as possible. We also organize at least one exchange, Soca Riversplash.
Local Committee Lugano
EESTEC LC Lugano (Electrical Engineering STudents European assoCiation Local Committee Lugano) is a local division of the EESTEC hosted by the University of Lugano (Switzerland). EESTEC LC Lugano has the following projects ongoing: Student Consulting, Embedded Systems Workshop, IT sUpport and IT rEcycling.
Local Committee Madrid
LC Madrid was one of the member of former Eurielec association and, of course, one of the EESTEC founders in Eindhoven. Our LC is host in Telecomunications school (ETSIT) at Universidad Politécnica (UPM). We're the only one LC in Spain, so we feel responsible of spread EESTEC spirit in the West of Europe. Our main aim is organizing events where every EESTECer in Europe wants to participate.

The LC was reborn in spring 2004.
Local Committee Nis
LC Nis became a member of EESTEC in March 2001, during the Congress in London.EESTEC Local Committee Niš was founded in 2001. and is one of the three LCs in Serbia.Currently, EESTEC LC Niš has around 70 members, which also includes alumni members (people who had been in EESTEC during studying, and have finished their studies). Around 30 members are active, and are entirely committed to keeping the EESTEC spirit alive at the Faculty of Electronic Engineering in Niš and in the city of Niš in general.
Local Committee Novi Sad
With more than 30 destinations and above 40 exchanges / workshops per year, EESTEC LC Novi Sad makes it possible for domestic students to travel across Europe, expand their professional knowledge, meet their colleagues from the abroad and their faculties, and, what matters the most, to have a great time together! The only prerequisite for becoming a member of LC Novi Sad is being a student at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad, majoring Electrical Engineering and Computing, or Mechatronics. Apart frequent voyages to abroad, Novi Sad organizes numerous activities at local level, its own workshops, exchanges, parties etc.

Local Committee Podgorica
EESTEC LC Podgorica has been formally accepted in the membership of EESTEC International in the year of 2000 on the congress in Delft, Nederland. It now has around 90 members, and more than 35 of them are active. In the past 7 years of its existence a number of local and international projects have been successfully finished, such as two students exchanges in the past two years and two local seminars two years before that.

Local Committee Sarajevo
The idea about EESTEC in Sarajevo was born in June 2006. On his own initiative and with a support of IEEE Student Branch Sarajevo, our colleague Faris Nizamić has visited the event organised by local Committee Belgrade. On his return to Sarajevo he was completely under impressions of EESTEC spirit. Then he addresses to his colleagues who had been interested in student activities and with them he started developing present JLC Sarajevo. First members of our local committee were people who also showed the most interest and gave a lot of their time and effort to EESTEC. In very short period of time JLC Sarajevo has a support of the Dean, Faculty Management and many important professors.
Local Committee Skopje
LC Skopje became a member of EESTEC in April, 2003. LC Skopje has organized it's first event in 2004(Skopje Workshop 2004). This Workshop was held in May,2004.Twelve participants from 6 countries participated at this workshop. LC Scopje also organized "TASTE The Networks" 2005, 11.12-19.12, "Feel The Energy" and "Plone my web" in 2007.
Local Committee Sofia
LC Sofia was born on the Cosenza Congress back in 2003. We have organized so far 6 events and among them the Congress 2006 in Sofia. We are an LC which is under the jurisdiction of the Students Union to the Technical University of Sofia.
Local Committee Tallinn
Lapikud is a student organization for Tallinn University of Technology Informatics students. It was formed 23rd of February 2002. First international event was organized in August, 2004 and in Madrid (April 2005) LC Tallinn was officially born!
Local Committee Tampere
LC Tampere is one of the first members in EESTEC - since 1986. LC Tampere is working under Tampere University of Technology, Faculty of Computing and Electrical Engineering. The yearly schedule mostly consists of participating in exchanges and naturally organizing them, participating in EESTEC's congress and keeping in contact with other LC's.
Local Committee Trieste
LC Trieste is member of EESTEC for long time, but for different reasons has not organized events and were not so active on international level. LC Trieste is officially recognized in 2006 at the Congress in Sofija. Two people went to the Congress and understand the great aim of the EESTEC family and start working on establishing LC Trieste, they are Arlind Doberdolani and Igor Stojic. It was very hard at the beginning on finding new people, motivating them and make them active. We start having open weekly meetings discussing about the LC, where could come the other non eestec-ers look how do we work and maybe become new members.
Local Committee Tuzla
JLC Tuzla is formed in year 2007 by a group of students from School Of Electrical Engineering in Tuzla. We have successfully organized one event in our one year of existence and we are proud to say that most of our guests were completely satisfied with our offer.
Local Committee Wroclaw
LC Wrocław was founded in March 2003 at Wrocław University of Technology, the Faculty of Electronics by four students of Comupter Science. As a new LC, Wrocław had status of observer until the Congress in Consenza, Italy, when it changed into regular LC and joined the official EESTEC world. The effort to organize exchange in 2003 wasn't successful, but finally in November 2004 people from 6 different countries were hosted by LC Wroclaw. In 2007 with a huge effort of Mateusz Orlowski and Piotr Kozaryn LC Wroclaw organized another successful event "The Future of Wireless Networks" hosting 20 participants from 16 European countries. After the event the main goal was to raise funds for branding, activation on International area and joining Internship programme. In 2008 there was another board change and they are continuing the goals of EESTEC and organizing a new event planned on March.

LC Zurich is a member of EESTEC since 1986.Our members are students of ETH Zurich form the local guild AMIV consisting out of electrical and mechanical engineers.
