WiE: Speak Up!
Sequel of our annual WiE including IMW
Dear EESTECers,
LC Munich is honored to present you the sequel of our Women in Engineering "Speak Up!" workshop from April 28th until May 6th. As always, the event goes hand in hand with our second event which will be announced in the next couple of weeks.
Our department for Gender Studies will give an interactive four day seminar. Female students will learn how to use their voice, express themselves and prove themselves in a working environment. It is a fact that women earn less money, are treated worse and hold less important positions in a company. Often, these facts lead to prejudice against women and they don't even try to stand up for themselves, seeing that "it is just as it is". So all you girls, use your voice and Speak Up! Our seminar will show you how to grasp opportunities and broaden your prospects for your future working life. Besides, together with all the participants you should work out your personal road to success.
Furthermore, there will be a womens' contact forum during where you'll have the opportunity to interact and exchange experiences with other women working in engineering jobs.
Apart from the lectures, we will introduce you to the lovely Bavarian capital, Munich. We look forward to showing you our Bavarian culture, Munich nightlife and our charming hospitality. The workshop will take place during the weeks of spring festival which is the "little sister" of our Oktoberfest and, of course, we don't want you to miss this event either!
As usual, the workshop will conclude with the International Motivational Weekend. This event will be held at a house in the alps. There you'll participate in soft-skill training and, not to overlook, some unforgettable parties. (The IMW is free for participants!)
