Visibility of the Calendar

Posted by Ceh at Sep 24, 2005 08:36 PM

The calendar shoould also be more visible, by that I mean more clear. For example if many events are happening at the same week , this should be clearly show. May be like that, that when you click to a certain date or week on the calendar, this one should open and then nicely dispaly all the events that are supposed to happen in this week. With some additioanl info of each event: Organizing LC, Name of the event, dates, number of particiapnts invited and a verry short descriptin (maybe 2-3 sentences) with a follow up >> finds out more--- a link to the event web page!!!

Data under calnedar

We cauld also make some kind of small statistic under or near the calendar about how nay events were there in the past and how myn are there still to come this year/month/summer/winter,.....

This would be good to show to the others (firms, students),that we are seroius and that there are many events,..

Calendar add-ons

  • RSS/ATOM feeds - Overlap checker - Advanced search capabilities

Also i would use a tree structure to show the calendar starting from months with statistics beside them (this many events, that many exams, etc), ---a user should be able to go higher to a yearly view ---a user should be able to go lower to a events-this month view with a horizontal month layout (0- days_in_selected_month) and a vertical arrangement of events, which would allow a better overview of that particular month --- each event should have at least a description and schedule on the international website --- boundary-crossing events (28 - 05) be displayed in both months for overlap-checking purposes but in the later month should be greyed or otherwise marked "unusable"
