LC Data

The number of members of a LC is calculated automatically. Each member needs to have an account in the portal.

The same applies to the number of events organized by an lc. Past events (before introduction of the portal) could be entered for archival purposes or alternatively a value needs to be introduced to correct the statistics by the past events.

LCs can only be created by the VC-IA. VC-IA can grant these rights to other members. Eventually VC-EA needs to be able to created LCs, too. This depends how observers will be represented in the system. Eventually all board members should have this right, to reduce bureaucrazy.

Required:

  • name
  • founded in
  • city
  • country

Optional:

  • link to homepage
  • link to guild
  • cp email address

Emails to cp@ list or to -cp@ are sent to everybody in the cp group and additionally to this email address. This makes it possible for lcs to redirect mail to their own mailing lists or imap folder.

  • chairman email address

    see cp email address above.

  • inconvenient times

This could be the successor to the exam periods which are currently in the calendar. In normal calendar view, they just mess up the overview. However this data is valuable for other lcs to plan their events. Therefore it should be possible to collect it.

I would also put some others cathegories under section Requred: number of active LC members (>optional their e-mails!) number of alumnies (>optional their e-mails) * the board (names and positions) - this would be good to see how do structures of various LC's vary

auto-generated data

Number of active/inactive/alumni/whatever should be auto-generated (see also top of the page), as constant work to update them is necessary otherwise. It should be enough to set one member to alumni state and then the member show up it the corresponding lists and is accounted in the corresponding statistics

Info on the organized past events

I would be also nice to have some kind of event counter. So that we could see how many events one LC has organiazed. You would have option > workshops > exchanges > fun andleisure events >local events > other All these categories would have the following data: > Name of the event >number of participants >participating LCs (this is not so neccessary, but still it is nice to see it and we could use it for later to actually calcualte and see which LC's have been on most exchanges, which haven't etc...) > a short description of the event (this could be joint with the calendar proposal i gave > look at CLANEDAR DATA (commnets). This would be nice to follow on LC's development trough they years and to actually see the whole development of EESTEC. Some of the data would be available fo all to see some only for the members with login.

info on past events

Agree. Just don't place too much details about the event here, since we have event reports, could cause input of redundant info. I'd go for number of participants, participating LCs etc., but text description leave for report.

again auto-generated data

I think the information you are discussing here is, as mentioned by Tijana, already available by the report and event system. Therefore arbitrary statistics can be generated from them.

Optional/link on the homepage

Posted by Ceh at Sep 24, 2005 09:51 PM

I think that should be obligatory, since we are EESTEC it would be nice for every LC to have their own web page. Also it si right that if someone goes to the EESTEC international web site, that there are all the info (or all the links on it) concerning EESTEC. One of the most important info is Lc info. If some compny e.g. in Romania hears about eestec, googles in and goes to EESTEC.org - there shoud be a link to LC Bucharest web page!!! (just an example,..they aahve the page and the link,...don't worry Tijana:))) :)

LC homepage

Borut, don't induce my heart attack:):) Anyway, I agree that all LCs should have a web presentation. Apart from the informative purpose for companies, potential members etc., it can be an occassion for LC to show their creativity and put accent on their strenghts apart from the data reqiured by int. web site.

LC homepages

Posted by Florian Friesdorf at Oct 01, 2005 04:47 PM
By making the homepage link a required data, we are blocking out LCs who do not have a webpage. I dont like the idea of forcing LCs too build up some be-there-for-the-purpose-of-being-linked-to webpage, just to be able to have a link to point. Or worse, entering a non-valid link. Ok - we could check whether a link is valid, but you can have a valid link with no information behind, so we would need to start checking the content of the page linked to. However I dont think we want to start to rate LC homepages - be it a funny idea to encourage LCs to make good homepages or not ;)

So have the situation, that LCs dont have a homepage. Depending on webspace, bandwith, transfer volume we could offer LCs to host there homepages on International server - if this is happening in the same system as the international page.

Question is, what is on a LCs homepage apart from, exchanges and members. And this information is already on the LC page of international website. So the link would make only sense if the LC has a great fancy page, which they think is worth visiting and therefore being linked to.

I would therefore keep the link optional.
