Mailing Lists

  • advertisements list ads@
    • people with ad flag set
  • lc lists lcname@
    • all people belonging to that lc
  • alleestec@
    • everybody
  • cp list cps@
    • people with cp flag set
    • optional cp email addresses given by lcs
  • chairman list lcchairs@
    • people with lc chairman flag set
    • optional chairman emai addresses given by lcs
  • lcname-cp@
    • people from lcname with cp flag set + optional cp email address given by lc
  • lcname-chairman@ + people from lcname with chairman flag set + optional chairman email address given by lc

the same as for cps and chairmans needs to be possible for an arbitrary choosable amount of further flags.

the idea of the optional email addresses is: munich for example uses an imap folder in which cp mails are stored, so we would enter the address necessary to deliver to it in our cps preferences.

subscribers only posting for lists needs to be available (e.g. alleestec)

posting

Controlled posting that Flo mentioned is very important. For the advertisements list of course. Also for alleestec and cp list, only CPs, local chair persons, and international board members should be able to make these posts.

who is allowed to post

How strict we need to be with who is allowed to post where, we will see and needs to be discussed (e.g. alleestec is open for everybody - I think - or at least for everybody on the list and still the signal-to-noise ratio is very good).

However it is clear that certain definable restrictions need to be possible.

I would much rather have a moderated advertisment list (no mail goes out without prior eestec review) rather than adding a company to the list, of course this will slow the process but will keep users on the list.
