ESA Opportunities for EESTEC members
Gain Experience
The NASA Academy is a ten-week
intensive but rewarding summer research programme conducted in four of
the NASA centres. It enables students interested in space to participate
in high level research projects while developing leadership skills.
ESA is giving two talented and
motivated European students the opportunity to attend this programme in
2009. The application process has now opened and students interested in
this opportunity should apply online.
The deadline for applications is
the 16th of January 2009.
Hands-on!
GENSO is a network of ground-stations,
allowing students to share data with spacecraft controllers through the
internet. This has the potential for near global coverage in communication
for every educational satellite launched, greatly increasing the overall
return from such missions.
ESA is currently looking for students
to contribute important projects to develop the network in a range of different
areas.
The deadline for expressions of
interest is the 12th of December 2008.
Get Sponsored
ESA is now offering students generous
funding to attend a number of the world's leading space conferences, both
within Europe and abroad. Do not miss this opportunity to meet world class
experts.
In a special collaboration with
other space agencies, ESA offers students sponsorship and a dedicated programme
with special guest speakers and social events at the upcoming International
Astronautical Congress (IAC) 2009 in South Korea. Students interested
in participating at the congress must first submit an abstract at http://www.iac2009.kr/
ESA Education offers many other
opportunities for students such as Cubesats, sounding rockets,
atmospheric balloons (REXUS/BEXUS), parabolic flights (Fly your Thesis!),
student satellites (ESMO/ESEO) etc.
